AMBIR announce the release of their new BCS (Business Card Scanner) software this week as being generally available to existing and new customers.  The AMBIRScan business card scanner software works in conjunction with a number of AMBIR Card Scanners. AMBIRScan BCS leverages powerful OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology that pulls contact information off of a physical business card and transforms it into a digital contact record.

The latest version of the AMBIRScan Business Card Scanner software includes a number of key upgrades and updates including:

• Native support for Salesforce.com – the AMBIRScan BCS can automatically import and create new leads and contacts in your Salesforce CRM application. The application also performs basic data hygiene by enabling de-duplication of records on import using email address.
• Native Support for Google Contacts – in prior versions users were required to first export from BCS into a CSV file and then re-import into Google Contacts. In the latest version, you can directly import scanned contacts into Google with no additional CSV file needed.
• Expanded Microsoft Support – In prior versions of BCS, users could scan directly into Microsoft Outlook. Now users can create contacts directly to a Microsoft account without the need to go through a local outlook client. This allows the user to access scanned contacts on their Microsoft account across all devices.  In addition to this BCS also natively supports Outlook 365 in addition to legacy versions of Outlook including 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019.

In addition to the native connections to Salesforce, Google and Microsoft, users can still capture and export contacts into CSV files with the push of a button.  The CSV files can then be uploaded into any email marketing, marketing automation, CRM or contact management application with ease.  AMBIR also released some general bug fixes and UI/UX improvements to the application.
