AmbirScan 8.0.25.0 Release Notes

Zapier Webhook Integration

  • AmbirScan now supports Zapier webhook integration, connecting your scanner to 6,000+ apps for automated workflows.
  • Every scan automatically sends structured data—including parsed business card contacts, extracted ID information, or document metadata—to trigger actions in your connected applications. License Keys Needed for ID or Business Card Parsing. 
  • Compatible with popular apps like Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Slack, Google Sheets, and thousands more.
  • Note: Requires Zapier Professional plan to use webhook functionality.

 

Document Preview Window

  • A new Document Preview feature allows you to review and manage scanned pages before saving when using PDF or Searchable PDF formats.
  • Add Pages: Continue scanning and add more pages to your current document without starting over.
  • Reorder Pages: Drag and drop page thumbnails to rearrange them in any order.
  • Rotate Pages: Quickly fix page orientation with built-in rotation tools.
  • Delete Pages: Remove unwanted or blank pages before finalizing your document.
  • Rename File: Edit the filename directly in the preview window for better organization.
  • Zoom Controls: Zoom in to verify text clarity and image quality before saving.

Driver License ID Enhancements

• A brand-new ID tab has been added, offering a dedicated space with intuitive tools for organizing and managing scanned license data efficiently.

• You can now enable password protection to safeguard sensitive information contained within scanned ID profiles, adding an extra layer of security.

• Default and custom notification rules have been updated to automatically trigger helpful pop-up alerts whenever specific ID-related actions occur.

• The Activity Log now records every interaction with scanned cards, making it easier to track usage history and monitor changes over time.

• New Watch and Ban List features allow you to flag scanned cards, add notes, and keep track of individuals for future reference or restricted access.

Bug Fixes & Performance

• Improvements have been made to enhance overall stability and deliver a better user experience across the application.

Search & Contact Enhancements

• You can now sort contact cards for quicker organization and access from the title.

• The search functionality has been refined, when the “All” filter is selected, results now display all relevant content as expected.

• A brand-new BCS Activation screen offers more precise messaging.

• AmbirScan now supports: English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

Settings & Navigation

• License List Notices are now visible in the lower section of the Help section for quick access.

• Card scanning profile settings are now automatically saved to a local file, reducing the need to constantly select.

Improved Iconography

  • The profile dropdown menu on both the Home and Settings pages now includes helpful icons to make it easier to identify each profile.
  • You’ll now see the AmbirScan icon conveniently located on your desktop for quicker access.

Layout Updates

  • The About Us section has moved! You’ll now find it in the Help tab at the bottom of the side menu instead of the General Settings page.
  • Profile Settings have been reorganized into a cleaner, three-column layout for easier navigation.
  • The General Settings page has been restructured to group similar settings together and reduce visual clutter.

Enhanced Menu Navigation

  • Dropdown menus now include scroll bars to clearly indicate when additional options are available.
  • No more manually entering your registration code—it’s now automated for BCS License Key activation.
  • BCS License Keys can now be copied and pasted with hyphens preserved for easier input.
  • Right-clicking a file in the Contacts tab now lets you send it directly to a specific profile destination.

Profile Improvements

  • There’s no limit now—you can create as many document or card profiles as you need.
  • Default profiles are now available when you launch the application, giving you a head start.

App UI Change:

  • The AmbirScan application has received an updated UI change. This design brings new navigation and functions to the entire app experience.

Redesigned Scan Page:

  • The Scan page now has a cleaner, simplified layout for easier use.
  • You can now edit the file name before scanning and choose your scan profile from a dropdown menu.
  • A new auto scan feature will allow you to make continuous scans directly from global header.
  • You can see scanner connection status clearly displayed in the top global header

Profile Management Upgrades:

  • Create and delete scan profiles in the top section of the profile page.
  • You can now set up profiles specifically for document or card scanning depending on the license and BCS key.
  • Easily import and export profiles to share settings or back them up.

Searchable PDFs:

  • A new file type in the Settings allows you to scan items into searchable PDF format, making it easier to find content in your documents

Business Card Scanning:

  • With a BCS license, you can now scan and manage business cards in the contacts section of the application.

Updated Side Menu:

  • A side menu has been added with new tabs for faster, more intuitive navigation throughout the app.

Settings Page:

  • The addition of a separate settings page is located on the side menu. This tab contains all of the general and profile settings of the application.
